Build a home for the forgotten Ugandans
"A total of 1,747,769 (4.6%) Ugandans are suffering from a form of depression with Uganda ranked 4th in Africa of people most likely to die by suicide. About 800 abortions are estimated to be carried out in Uganda everyday 42% of the adult (above 18 years) population is either, single, widowed, separated or divorced, nearly 40% widows face the escalating issue of property grabbing in Uganda"
We plan on constructing the Alma Family Home, a place where destitute widows, orphans, recovering addicts and the homeless can find comfort, security and tranquility. It will hold our orphanage, counselling and mentorship centre, leadership & training centre and pregnancy unit.
This will enable us work with larger groups in a more institutional, better organized, easily monitored setting, using modern technology to maximize impact, with curricula that addresses diverse cultural origin and that offers opportunity for a stable, secure learning environment and reflects the stable families and relationships we seek to provide. We shall also run family activities, youth and adult trainings.
Establishing Best Practices
We envision responding to and serving the needs of larger groups of people in a setting that is more institutional, better organized, easily monitored, using modern technology to maximize impact, with curricula that addresses diverse cultural origin and that offers opportunity for a stable, secure learning, in-house training, counselling and sharing environment; a centre that will hold an orphanage, pregnancy health unit, ICT facilities, well equipped training rooms.
